I believe in the traditional definition for the institution of marriage, defined as one man being married to one woman at one time in a monogamous relationship. However, I believe that Americans involved in committed, same-sex couples must enjoy the same civil rights protections afforded under the Constitution. As your next Congressman in the 2nd District, I will defend the rights of all Americans to access civil rights protections while enjoying long-term, committed relations through state-enforced laws on marriage and civil unions.
